Michael Salerno

Michael Salerno is an Australian-born artist, filmmaker and cinematographer who lives and works in Paris.
Employing a variety of media, including photography, video and installation, his work has been featured in countless magazines, on book and album covers and exhibited in galleries and film festivals across Europe, USA and Australia.
His first book, "Home" (in collaboration with American writer Peter Sotos) was published in 2013 and his second book "Childhood", was published in 2015.
As well as making his own short films, documentaries and videos, he has also created substantial video works for Opera de Lyon ("Pelleas et Melisande", 2015) and Opera de Lille ("Marta", 2016). He has also collaborated with Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich ("La Forza del Destino", 2013) and La Monnaie in Brussels ("Jakob Lenz", 2015).
Michael also runs the small press Kiddiepunk, which publishes limited edition books and fanzines, as well as supporting film and video projects.
